The original Hindi play by Ajay Shukla is translated by Shashikant Punaji in Konkani. The play begins with Shah Jahan wishing to build a monument for his lover Mumtaz. He summons the chief engineer Mr. Rego to float the tender of Taj Mahal. Therein starts the trouble, they all want a big bite of the funds that are allocated for building the monument. The play imparts the message that Shah Jahan gets old and dies but corrupted system lives on.

This drama explains what the contributions of outsiders to Goa state are and why outsiders come to Goa in large numbers.

The Konkani play depicts the real life experience of the author who was a student activist and participated actively in students’ movement of Goa. This work tries to tell aloud about social problems and superstitions.

Engagingly funny, is what best describes these two short plays. In ‘Shikillyo Baylo’ an educated feminist woman plan to control the circumstances around her much to her chagrin. ‘Kalechi Bhangsal’ introduces us to two educated unemployed men who using their wits and smarts getting whole village buzzing, when they open a shop where they sell solutions to any problem.
