Hema Naik, the translator of this novel, is an independent talented writer in Konkani language. His novel Bhogdand and Alka Saraogi’s Konkani translation of the original Hindi novel Kalikatha: Via Bypass have won two Sahitya Akademi awards. To date, he has published several independent and translated books.
