About the Author
John Baptist Pinto was a keen educationalist and reformer. He was born in Goa, in Maina (Bardez) in 1891 and died in Goa in Saligão in 1973, though he spent most of his life in East Africa. He worked hard to support the Goan community at home and in Uganda, where he had migrated to as a young man and was employed as a clerk in the High Court in Kampala.This he wrote post retirement, when he returned to Goa.
