Well-known Tamil writer Indira Parthasarathy’s novel is about terror and tragedy over casteism prevalent in the remote southern districts of Tamil Nad. The entire plot is based on a true story that happened in 1968 in a small village in Thanjavur district. There, about 42 Harijan laborers were burnt alive by Hindu landlords.
